The Cantabrian capital will host “Cartas de las Golondrinas”, stage play of Escena Miriñaque Theatre Company. The work is performed from Thursday, October 31, in the Pereda Hall of the Palace of Festivals.
Winner of the 2013 MAX Award of the Performing Arts in the category of New Show, “Cartas de las Golondrinas” addresses the world of immigration, which is so much in vogue today, through personal correspondence between Spanish immigrants and their families at the beginning of the twentieth century. Written and directed by Blanca del Barrio, the work relates stories about separation and homesickness, but also of hope and opportunity, and proposes an approach to the current situation of migration in our country. The work is completely represented by the actresses Esther Aja and Noelia Fernández, who display a wide dramatic repertoire to get under the skin of multiple and diverse characters.
In addition, attendees can look at an exhibition that reviews the ten years of Escena Miriñaque through their sets and also they can participate in a symposium with actors and members of the company.
Blanca del Barrio has won the second prize of the Ciudad de Torrejón XVI Theatre Festival for Stage Managers, thanks to “Cartas de las Golondrinas”.
